The UPMC Center for Sports Medicine, located on the bank of the Monongahela River in the South Side of Pittsburgh, is a world-renowned facility specifically designed for the injury treatment of athletes. The Center for Sports Medicine includes a 40,000-square-foot medical center, 100,000-square-foot training facility, and a 125,000-square-foot private University of Pittsburgh Panthers/Pittsburgh Steelers building. Clientele run the gamut from professional sports teams, such as the Pittsburgh Steelers, to weekend athletes. Subspecialty-trained radiologists from the Musculoskeletal Imaging Division staff the center. Equipment at the facility includes two digital x-ray rooms and a 1.5T high-field MR.
Services offered at the center include arthroscopic surgery, athletic training, mental training programs, injury rehabilitation, massage therapy, cycling performance services, and a golf fitness laboratory.
