2020-07-24 MRRC: Hourly Rate Change

Dear Colleagues,

I want to update you on the status of the MRRC. We are fully open now and studies are resuming as investigators restart their protocols. Although the need to modify our schedule to provide a safe environment has reduced flexibility in scheduling on Prisma 1 and Prisma 2; the availability of Prisma 3 provides additional slots for users. The current situation represents new challenges for all of us, thus we will be assessing our protocols over the coming weeks and modify them as necessary to maintain safety and return to more normal operations as appropriate and possible. Thus I ask all of you to be patient and help us to adhere to the restart guidelines and enable the center to remain open for all users.

Despite the shutdown, due to the robust utilization in the 2 prior years enabled by the success of all of you who used the MRRC, we have reduced the rate to $585/hour, retroactive to July 1, 2020. Please use this rate in financial planning. The rate is adjusted at least every two years per NIH requirements, however due to changing conditions for research we plan to revisit the rate again next year.
